It was a strange mix of contrasts last weekend. There was the previously highly touted first freestyle from Halo dance (Duality) at Romsey which produced extreme reviews from both ends of the spectrum. Read about it here. .
Then there was the Jive Riot Hawaiian BBQ and Beach Party which seemed to have an almost unanimous vote of approval. Read about it here.
The same night also saw the Ceroc Newbury Utopia "Twisted" at Newbury as well as the DYD Freestyle at Totton.
The Bournemouth Pavilion dancefloor is not being redone at this time, as it turns out, so people will still have to suffer on the existing floor and the freestyle for this weekend which was previously cancelled because of the floor refurbishment, is back on. There doesn't seem to be a new date when the floor will be fixed at the moment.
Additional classes continue to be added on the very excellent Jive Class Map at http://www.jiveclasses.co.uk. It's worth a look if you haven't already seen it.
Only 4 freestyles on the Calendar for this weekend but then it is the middle of summer and several organisations are taking a well earned summer break.
I understand that there are some brand new freestyles being planned for the future. Watch this space. _________________ "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."
