Fair enough Tee Dee

I can see your not an R&B fan. So no WCS for you little lady Wink

Interesting that you say no to the Private lives & yes to Jo le Taxi. I would put them in the same pot for their subtle energy.

Waiting For A Train - Flash And The Pan is another track that always goes down well at weekenders.

Glad you liked some of them. Very Happy

'fraid I'm with Tee Dee also on most of the tracks SF and no I'm not a R&B fan particularly either.

50+ tracks on my list at Last FM
Mostly they play directly from the page too so folk won't find yourself having to look up obscure music. Click the little black round dots on the LHS of each track listing

Link here
http://www.last.fm/user/qdos/library/playlists/1xko1_mojive

There's a reasonable mix of music in there but sorry it's not slow stuff on the whole. They are mostly songs which just get me thinking 'hmm I'd like to get up and dance.' No particular order or anything just one's I happened to add to a list long time ago as and when I happened to hear them. Top of the list really ought to be The King though. even puts ELO down a step. Burning Love FANTASTIC

Yeah, SF, did like some of them - even downloaded a few and will more than likely use... So thanks

Yeah, your right - not a particular RnB fan..! Then again, it's like most genre of music; some I like, some I don't. For example - just because I like some of the Gotan Project tracks doesn't mean I'm going to like all Tango music. Or liking Heavy D and the Boys (er, not to dance to Shocked ) doesn't make me a rap/hip hop fan!!!

Worth remembering that my comments were based on a very brief listen - so a snap judgment...

Guys, this is getting out of hand. I will not tolerate any form of physical threats or intimidation on this Forum (see Forum rules) and if anyone is unable to abide by these rules, I will have no recourse but to ban them from the Forum. Please try and play nicely together. We all have our differences and it doesn't hurt to pause and have a think before posting something which can cause offence, or be a personal attack. We should all be grown up enough to carry on discussions without resorting to abuse. Thank you. SJ

OK...back on topic! Sad

BTW, the version of the Deadmau5 track I'm going to download is 3.20 mins long and 128bpm.
I predict it will go down well in my neck of the woods.

Well I hold my hand up and say I was wrong. Embarassed
I played 'I Remember' by Deadmau5 (what a silly name) last night at Waterlooville and asked dancers if they liked or disliked it.
Of the 50% who got up to dance to it, only a handful liked it , with the majority disliking it. ("wishy-washy" was one comment)
So I shall consign this track to the 'chillout' playlist on my iPod, and won't be troubling modern jivers with it!

The joys of having a teenage daughter who cant even get out of bed without having music playing!!!

Heard her playing this one this morning and couldnt help but strut my stuff whilst making the packed lunches.... Probably a bit slow to jive to out of choice, but sooooo funky Razz

Shocked I'm hurt you don't remember Nicky!!! Not only have I played this at Hamworthy on a Monday (one of the last 2 tracks) AND during the last half hour at the last Minstead Meltdown but I danced with YOU both times too!!! I'm sure you remember really and are just winding me up right? Twisted Evil

In response though, yes, it is fantastic to dance too - there's so much going on in this track it gives you so many opportunities to really bend the moves/rules and interpret the music Very Happy Inevitably some may find it a touch on the slow side (for those interested I think it's around 108bpm from memory)...

My favourite track of the moment. Have been playing it at the Funky Fish (Brighton venue) for a couple of weeks and it fills the floor. Yes the bpm is way down at 108, but it is so funky that you hardly notice it is actually really slow. With so much going on, it is really versatile (both Jive & WCS) and a great track to 'do your thing.' I think it hilarious Nicky does not remember dancing with you RP, maybe you waived your magic wand and she was under your spell?!! Laughing

My favourite track of the moment is Long John Baldry "They Raided The Joint".

I expect you will enjoy this one, TeeDee. Very Happy
