|Unashamedly copied from another dance Forum :
To all the male dancers and leads out there in the scene....
§ If you start the dance by making a physical connection and allowing me to calmly tune into your energy instead of rushing me into a pattern before the music has really, really started…
§ If you understand that being a better dancer has nothing to do with how many patterns you have memorized…
§ If you lead me in a smooth, gentle and determined manner…
§ If you clearly indicate whether you want a stepping or a spinning turn….
§ If you dance to the music, really dance to the music…
§ If you ask me to dance by saying “would you like to dance?” instead of just pulling on my hand…
§ If you allow me the space to breathe during the dance….
§ If you pick up on a shift in the music (I will reward you with the biggest, most radiant smile that I have)…
§ If you look me in the eye a couple of times during the dance …
§ If you are playful, and you know how to share fun through your lead within the song….
§ If you lead me into a dip or trick without bumping me into other dancers and if you only do so when I’m comfortable and looking balanced….
§ If you understand that I, as a lady, do not care about patterns at all…. I only care about a clean, smooth lead, musicality and connection….
If you do any of this….I APPLAUD YOU and I LOVE YOU AS A DANCER!
