OK I was running through some tracks and I found one that to me sums up exactly what I like to dance to. I think we all struggle to put a finger on exactly what we like to dance to so here's a challenge for you all.

Pick just one song. Yes JUST ONE ! that sums up Jive for you.

Cool challenge eh? This should be good Can't wait to hear people's tracks. To get things started here's mine

Artist = Electric Light Orchestra, Track = Rock And Roll Is King
Link here Click the triangle play button in the top right.
http://www.last.fm/music/Electric+Light+Orchestra/_/Rock+%27N%27+Roll+Is+King

I'd put a YouTube link up but they recently banned all UK music tracks in YouTube due to a Royalties dispute. If anyone knows of another site to use instead of YouTube please let us know.

To take your dancing to another level you need the music you love to achieve that goal, mine is dance music, motown, soul, funk, jazz funk, house & garage is the music i am passionate about above all other music, only a few tracks have that special buzz that sends a shiver up your spine & have you dancing with tears in your eyes,I have a few of those tracks, but above all is a latino house track entitled Masquemancada(full intention mix) by Ronaldos Revenge this is the track that sums up the passion i have for dancing.

That's a really tough one. I guess the one song that sums up Jive for me is Tina Arena - Now I Can Dance.

If I had a second choice it would be Macgill Casey - Late Night Swing.

A challenge indeed!!!

So difficult to choose just one track when there are so many that I love for different reasons.

Have decided on this one as the title says it all, "Do Your Thing" by Basement Jaxx......We should all feel free to do whatever the music makes us feel like doing Very Happy

Sorry QDOS - I'm not playing Crying or Very sad
Just too many great tracks to dance to, picking one is almost impossible (unless I had a gun to my head!) Very Happy

Ha Ha!

Well, do you punk?! Very Happy

Ok, tell you what, I'll choose "Gotan Project - San Maria - La Revencha del Tango" just to prove that I, too, like a little bit of latin influence from time to time too!

Now you're having a laugh now aren't you? That's Tango, it even has tango in the title. They dance the tango in the video too, It couldn't get more Tango Rolling Eyes

The thing is, whatever track you choose today, it will be different from the one you would have chosen a year ago, or will do a year from now.

In the past, I might have nominated History repeating (Shirley Bassey and Propellorheads) or one of the versions of Love potion number 9.

At the moment, gun to head, I would say...um...Sway, PCD.

As for the ELO track - somebody should be doing Lindy hop...

After much deliberation, I'm going to go with Kenny G's 'I like the way you move...'

(well, that's todays choice!)

Yes, well, you chose a track with 'rock'n'roll' in the title - that's a completely different genre of music too!

Each to their own Andy, it's all about having fun and the challenge is to sum up what Jive is to us. Tee Dee likes having a laugh with Tango, I like Rock n Roll and Sugarfoot likes WCS.

To me when I hear Rock N Roll Is King I want to get up and Jive to it and if I think of Jive I think of Rock n Roll gigs. I love it.

Yes it's quite a challenge to do it in one song, but hey it wouldn't be a challenge otherwise. Yes we could all go and look up Jive in some encyclopaedia and find a definitive song but isn't it more interesting to see what all our various opinions are?

Go on be a devil and have a go. Pick a song / track.....................

Hmmm... another hard one. Well, I change my mind every few weeks, at the moment I am still very fond of Katy perry`s `Hot n cold. Which reminds me, I haven`t emailed the freestyle to request it for this saturday...Got to fly!
