Southern Jive Awards 2014
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone that took the time to Vote in this yearís Southern Jive Awards.
There was a very good turnout for the voting.
There were votes for 21 different Jive Organisations, 29 different DJs and 23 different Teachers.

Yes, itís mainly a popularity contest but it should reflect to some extent how Jivers rate the various Jive Organisations,
DJs and Teachers that we are so fortunate to have so many of in the Southern Jive area.

So, to the results :
The voting is closed, the votes have been counted and I can announce the results:

Southern Jive Organisation of 2014 :

1. Jive 'n' Kickin
"They are not afraid to take a financial risk and offer something different than a normal freestyle.
There have been several tribute singers who are so good that many believe they are miming and at the same time keeping ticket prices low.
Christmas has always had many treats, prizes, fun games plus many prizes in their free raffle, again at a low entry cost as itís their way of thanking all those who attend their events throughout the year."

2. Debut Dancing
3. Ceroc Fever

Jive Riot was just behind in 4th.

The two top organisations possibly gained significant votes because they both promoted some special events this year.

Southern Jive DJ of 2014 :

1. Paul Whitehead"Paul Whitehead, as he plays brilliant music all evening, including classic dance tunes and the latest and best hits. He always plays my requests too!"

2. John Dunlop
3. Dan Murrell

4th was last year's winner Miranda Hewitt-Green, 5th Chris Atkins and 6th a newcomer, Amanda Saunders.

Southern Jive Teacher of 2014 :

1. Kirstie Roper (Ceroc Live)
"Kirsties classes are always fun and she's so approachable if I need to ask for any help. Always makes me feel welcome and keeps us all smiling."

2. Dan Murrell (Murrell's)
3. Carl Mehrer (Jive Riot)

In 4th place was Kelly Donoghue also of Jive Riot.

This is an identical placing to last year's results and shows that all the mentioned Teachers have been consistent.

Congratulations to all winners. They will be presented with their trophies and a small gift in recognition of the fact that they have been voted Southern Jive 2014 winners.
"We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."
