That's a fine list of tracks there Shakira! 8 of your 9 are some of my favourites tracks, including Ring My Bells which I love! Only 1 I'm not a fan of but that's not bad going!

I agree, RichardP, a good list. I'm guessing that your one exception is Fever? Laughing

My money is on Ciega Sordomuda - Shakira, sorry Sad . I agree that the others are top track selections. Ring my Bells was a slow burner for me as I was not sure at first until I played it on a proper venue sound system. It is amazing how songs that sound good at home do not always work in venues and vice versa. I have learnt it is always worth taking the risk (within reason) on tracks that you think are 50:50 and see what happens Exclamation Smile

4. Raul Malo - Haunting Me (Just love this, and the surprise ending)
5. Safri Duo - Ritma De La Nocha (High energy and fun)
6. Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers (One of Kylie's best I think.)

Wow, I started a pop quiz!!!

Good guesses SJ, Shakira & lilblue, however, full marks go to Olly; there's something about Ciega Sordomuda which just doesn't quite do it for me! All the others are absolute top tracks so thanks again for posting Shakira!

This is a great thread and I'm glad it's coming back to life!

And just for fun:

Shampoo - Uh Oh! We're in Trouble Laughing

Everybody seems to have gone very quiet on this thread..... I was hoping for shed-loads of suggestions to listen to! Sad

I love the 'Ring my bells' youtube video, although sadly, I've yet to dance to it.

Is it me? I'm not picking on Nicky, so please don't take this personally. I've had a listen to these tracks because Nicky has kindly put in links. There's other "Night Making lists that are very similar IMHO.

I've been looking at this thread and looking for inspiration for my own playlists. I've listened to the tracks on the lists and just don't get why they've got into someone's MJ top ten.

I listened to this and it seems unremarkable, but jiveable. But certainly never going to get into my top 100.

This song is less than 100bpm and IMHO completely unsuitable for MJ.

I'm a Buble fan myself. And this is a great song. But not really one that will make it into my MJ top 10 because it has a very long introduction and a very slow beat, probably less than 100bpm - why not Haven't Met You Yet? A fabulous song and a much more jiveable speed.

89BPM - slow, slow, slow!

I'm not going to keep going as the above examples have made my point.

I'm sorry if I seem to be picking on Nicky. It's not my intention to rubbish her music choices. All the tracks she has chosen have musical merit. But I really do think they have no place in a "Top Ten" in a "Jive Music" thread.
