Haha Mops, you loved the Lady Soul remix! It was requested at the last Minstead Jive Jukebox although I can't remember who by... Many thanks to you whoever you are!
That must be the DJ Jazzy D remix which is really popular in South Africa. It seems to be a bit of a marmite track over here as some people love the Temptations original and can't stand this one while others prefer the remix. I think I'm with the former although it is a lot slower to dance to. Confused

Correct SJ, it was indeed the DJ Jazzy D - Lady Soul remix!!! I love the Temptations original and thought it would be sacrilege if there was a dance remix made of it... Until I heard this Laughing it's awful in it's own way but I like it!

Shocked
I've got nothing against remixes/cover versions per se, but this remix is indeed awful!
I'm not even sure it makes the track 'easier' to dance to - the drum loop pattern is irritating in the extreme! Mad

DJ Jazzy version is a great remix definitely filled the floor up at LeRoc freestyle.

Heard it 3 times last Thurday at mojive ! used during both lessons and during the freestyle. I think Ceroc Newbury played another version of Lady Soul more like the original, but better IMO if you don't like dance remixes. No idea who it was thou.

Theres a new album out called Strike by the Baseballs - lots of remixes of great songs esp Lets Get Loud. Sometimes it's nice to try new music you never know people sometimes have different tastes to DJ's. Worth trying out some new stuff during classes if you don't want to risk it at a freestyle.

I agree that there are some terrible remixes around that massacre a good track but my favourite remixers (if that's a term) are the Freemasons, Cahill, Almighty and Dave Aude. I'll always give their work a listen to see if they have made a Jiveable track. Sometimes, in my experience, the remix brings a good track within a comfortable Jiving tempo whereas the original is either too fast or too slow. Some other noteworthy remixes have been done by Moto Blanco, Wideboy,Jason Nevins, Lockout, Russ Chimes and plenty of others. Of course there will always be people who will prefer the original version of a track and view any remix as blasphemy! Very Happy
